The Directional Non Force Technique® Chiropractic approach does not use typical Chiropractic adjusting methods. The D.N.F.T.® Chiropractic adjustment usually includes an adjustment or several adjustments to the intervertebral disc above and or below the vertebral segment adjusted. In addition, ligaments and muscles are part of the functional anatomical unit and are adjusted as well. The adjustment is delivered by hand with a contact by the thumb or with a wooden tool in hand to assist in areas of resistance. Only a few ounces at maximum are used in this adjustive thrust.
There are several different kinds of disc problems. Typically, there is a diffuse disc bulge accompanying a vertebral subluxation (alignment problem less than a dislocation causing nerve pressure and dysfunction).
When the condition is more severe, the Intervertebral Disc bulges in a specific direction, although this usually ia accompanied by a diffuse disc bulge. Fortunately, the prognosis is excellent in most cases when almost any disc bulge is present. Why not try a few DNFT® Chiropractic adustments before surgical options are explored?
